Hi, I’m Rafael Hidajat, Franchise Director of A Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections Auckland Central. I’m a trained building inspector and a Certified Professional Inspector (NACHI#21081847) through InterNACHI®—the world’s leading association for home inspectors.

I adhere to both the InterNACHI Standards of Practice and the New Zealand Residential Property Inspection Standard (NZS 4306:2005). This combined approach ensures my inspections are exceptionally thorough and exceed industry standards. For added assurance, I carry both professional indemnity and general liability insurance as a certified home inspector.

I dedicate my time to carefully inspect the property with 1 or 2 jobs max per day. I take pride in my detailed process, recording all findings—whether they highlight potential issues or simply offer useful recommendations and general insights.

In every home inspection I perform—I use advanced tools and technology at no additional cost. This reflects my commitment to providing high-quality, modern inspection services yet remain affordable. Many of my past clients have found the inspection report to be a valuable investment, often using it to negotiate with the vendor and save anywhere from a few thousand to hundreds of thousands of dollars. In many cases, the savings far exceed the cost of the inspection itself.

I use a range of cutting-edge tools to ensure thorough and efficient inspections, leaving as little as possible to guesswork. Depending on the property and weather condition, I may use a thermal camera, moisture meters, drones, pole camera systems, and an underfloor robot to access hard-to-reach areas. With the right equipment, I don’t leave reports saying “the roof was too high” or “the subfloor was too tight or unsafe”—I inspect what needs to be inspected.

Operating a thermal camera requires proper training, and I am a certified thermography operator, qualified through InterNACHI to accurately interpret thermal imaging data.
